Tunnels & Trolls : Gristlegrim Room 105--The Cobra Jar Room

This is a standard Gristlegrim room. There are doors in the north and south walls. The walls are covered with friezes of large cobras towering over tiny men. The men have coins in their hands and seem to be walking on a carpet of coins. In the center of the room is a low dais of stone. On it are placed 6 jars of different heights, each 1 foot larger than the previous.

The jars are sealed with wax stoppers through which a single small hole has been drilled. If shaken, the jars will rattle as if there are coins inside. The smallest jar has 100 gold coins in it, the next 200, and so on up to 600. Each jar also has a spitting cobra inside it, whose bite is deadly and poisonous. Monster ratings of 10, 25, 45, 70, 100, 150 - lengths two through twelve feet. If a delver takes any damage, including spite damage from the attacking cobras, they are poisoned. The poison will do damage equal to the snake's monster rating on the following combat turn.
